Subject: COCKSHAW
Dear Jane
Do you do COCKSHAW as well as COCKSHUTT? I found one today while
transcribing Skipwith burials. I'd just finished 1780 to 1812 for the NBI
and was having a browse of the marriages, mainly to help on some of the
names
in the Dade entries. Anyway here's what I found......................
14 Oct 1794 Skipwith
William COCKSHAW, 24, Miller married Ellen SHARP, 17, spinster
botp, Banns, both signed X, Witnessed by Wm. ILES & Edwd HARE
Also spotted a baptism....................
1811
Hannah dau of William COCKSHAW of North Duffield, labourer, by Eleanor
his wife, born 2nd, bapt 5th May
William the father is the son of the late William COCKSHAW, labourer of
Wheldrake by Mary his wife
Eleanor is the dau of the late Thomas SHARP, taylor of Skipwith by Eleanor
his wife
Hope these are yours.
