Hi, I am Bill (WILLIAM EDWARD) Cockshott, and I live in Arroyo Grande,
California, which is on California's Central Coast a bit south of Hearst
Castle and about 100 miles north of Santa Barbara. My father, Maurice C. and
uncle Basil Cockshott were the only children of The Rev. William Evans
Cockshott. I have a brother Basil Hugh (or Ted) Cockshott, and a sister
Barbara Joan Rambough (dec. about 1968). The Rev. W.E. Cockshott was the son
of The Rev. Canon John Cockshott. We haave a family tree around somewhere
and one of these days I'll dig it out of a box and see about finding some
dates to go with the names.
My wife and I have two children, Daphne (Cockshott) Manos and Dr. Randall
Cockshott, a sportspsychologist practicing in the S.F. Bay area.
We also ran into another variation of the Cockshott name, which was TOM &
Hilda COSHOTT, who dropped the CK when Tom emigrated to the States from
England and we were able to trace them back to having been a cousin of my
father.
The family tree mentioned earlier traces back a couple of generations to
where the DU MAURIERS and MURIELS connect in to it. My father was quite
proud of the connection Daphne DuMaurier (SP??), a second or third round
cousin.

Hello all,
My name is Edmund Douglas Flack, the grandson of Frederick Henry Douglas
Flack and Alice Cockshutt, b. 13 June 1890, m. 21 January 1914 and d. 8 July
1955.
I was named after my great uncle Edmund Meredith Cockshutt b. 7 December
1893, m. 1 July 1925, d. 10 July 1964 who married Winifred Evans b. 6
November 1895.
I believe Edmund Meredith Cockshutt's father was another Edmund Cockshutt b.
ABT 1862, d. 14 June 1904 who married Emily Meredith b. 27 July 1863
I knew my great uncle Edmund Cockshutt when I was a boy and stayed with him
in his home in Macclesfield, Cheshire England. He told me he was a silk
designer and that his family had been in the weaving industries for
generations. I remember that he had a wooden leg, having been wounded in the
1st World War whilst serving with the Lancashire Regiment.
Does anyone share any of my Cockshutt forebears? I would love to hear from
you.
Ted (Edmund) Flack
