> Looking for any information on the Cockshotts of Gargrave Yorks and
surrounding area. I'm particularly interested in Farrand Cockshott who
married poss. Mary Watson 9 Feb 1723/4 in Kildwick, with children William,
Stephen and Mary. Stephen mar. Ann Preston 20 Jun 1758 in Gargrave:
children Farrand, Job, William and Mary. I am descended from Job who
married Sophia Hughes and died in London 1824; profession ship breaker. I
have Job's will, which is how I know he was originally from the Gargrave
area of Yorks. They had a son Job Farrand Cockshott (died infant) and
daughter Ann Mary b. 17 Jun 1814 in Rotherhithe, Surrey. I believe these
all descend from Robert Cockshott of Gargrave and his second wife Margaret
Young, mar. 21 Nov 1698 in St. Mary's, Rawmarsh, Yorks.

I've explained a bit of "why it's taking so long" on the web-site.
Have a look .. and tell me of any/all mistakes ..
Cheers Jane
