Subject: RE: [PJ] Xmas wish come true (well almost)
Hi Leith - the following is part of an email I posted to you recently -
therefore it looks like you may have 2 additional convicts - not just one !
"John Suffolk (convict on the 1819 - Lord Sidmouth) married Elizabeth
Cockshall (convict 1820 Morley). In 1828 they were both living in Windsor.
John was a Shopkeeper and they are both listed as Protestants. "
best wishes
Lesley

I think one of my brick walls is just about down, and I'll be claiming
another convict.
Joseph Suffolk was my gg grandfather, born about 1815 in Windsor according
to others' research. I had no records until his marriage, and couldn't find
anything in the 1828 census that tied in. I found him in the 1841 census
and that was a minor miracle.
Over the weekend I was updating my database with all these bits of
information, on the page I printed from the 1841 census there is a John
Suffolk, address the same street in Windsor. I checked Lesley's on line
info, and a John Suffolk came on the Lord Sidmouth in 1818 or so, aged 35.
Joseph also called his first born son John. It looks as though I may have
found my ggg grandfather finally. After Xmas will need to get transcripts
etc and check shipping etc to tie it down.
But Xmas wishes do come true!!

Jane:
We recently received the fiche for the Adel registers, and have made one
full pass through them. Whilst doing so, we encountered a single
COCKSHUTT and knew you'd be interested:
Jane COCKSHUTT, illegitimate daughter of Hannah of Sethant(?) Mill,
baptised at Adel 9 Feb 1817. It also adds that she was born in Addingham
8 Dec 1816!
Blessings of the season!
