Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
William “W.C” “Bill” Berry, age 78, of Cape Carancahua, Texas died
Friday, Oct. 13, 2006, in Victoria, Texas. He was born on April 17, 1928, in
Success, Ark., son of the late William Cort Berry Sr. and Geraldine McEntire
Berry, and Grandson of Marion Franklin Berry and Senia Mae Cockrum Berry of
Pittman, Randolph County, Arkansas, and Tobias and Ettie Thomas McEntire of
Dove Creek, Colorado.
Mr. Berry was reared in the Success, Ark., area and attended school there.
He was a resident of Sonoma, California in the early 1960’s where he managed
a Hudson Engineering Plant in Shellville. Mr. Berry was also a member of the
Shellville Volunteer Fire Department.
Moving back to Texas in 1967, he lived in Houston, and later in East
Bernard, Texas where he worked for Hudson Products as an assistant superintendent.
Mr. Berry married Dorothy Ann Harvey and she preceded him in death on May 24,
1981. He later married Velma Jean Venglar on May 29, 1982, in East Bernard,
they have made their home on the beautiful coast of Texas in Cape
Carancahua, since 1986. Mr. Berry was a member of Masonic Lodge in Spring, Texas. He
enjoyed fishing, boating, and woodworking, and enjoyed serving as a volunteer
fireman and giving his time to the local volunteer fire department. He also
loved the History Channel.
Funeral services were be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2006, at Wharton
Funeral Home with The Reverend Duane Mayberry officiating. Interment was in
the Holy Cross Cemetery in East Bernard under the auspices of Masonic Lodge of
Spring, Texas.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Free, Albert Horelica, Bill Stroud, Robert Taylor,
Darrell Zahn and Harold Wilcox.
Survivors include his wife, Jean Berry of Cape Carancahua; sons David James
Berry and wife, Kassie, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Matthew Berry and wife,
Kelly Berry, of East Bernard, Texas.
daughters, Cherie Lynn Berry Overfield and husband, Jack, of Cypress, Texas,
Candace Kay Berry Morris and husband, Todd, of Corsicana, Texas, Anne Denise
Berry Graves of Richmond, Texas.
Surviving also are stepdaughter Shelley Cardwell and husband, Ronnie, of
Angleton, Texas, stepsons Patrick Kurtz and wife, Pam, of Lake Jackson, Texas,
Darrell Kurtz and wife, Cindy ,of East Bernard, Texas and Andy Kurtz of East
Bernard; brother, Thural Berry and wife, Barbara, of Martinez, California; and
step-sister, Helen Cali and husband, Frank, of Fort Smith Arkansas. 30
grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

choice.
