We just returned from Mt. Sterling, Kentucky where we visited the
graveyard of our ancestor William A. Cockrell, born 1802. We visited
the
Camargo Methodist Church, went to the courthouse and roamed around the
Machpelah Cemetery. We met several of our distant relatives. One of
them mentioned a Mr. Cockrell who had come there from Texas. He thinks
he is part of our family. He makes custom spurs. If anyone knows of
him
or he is on this list, I would like to contact him.

In Camargo the cemetery is located in the middle of the field. Have the
stones been stood back up correctly? The Spratts were resting there as
well.
The only person that has given me much help is Gary at the Auto
Salvage. Then, he too, was not much help. He knew that although I was
a Cockerel I was an outsider. He did take me around a little but did
not share family information. Did anyone make you aware of the Tipton
Cemetery close to the Cockrell cemetery? They have a Revolutionary
General named Tipton resting there.
Let's talk maybe I have something that I can share.
