Hello,
My names is James Cocking and I just came accross your post on Ancestry.com. I see that you are from a William Cocking( one of his sons )
I have found a 1881 census with my Grandfather Harold Cocking whose father was William. William was married to Ellen Pickering and they had 7 children.Charles Henry, Mary E, Clara A., Amy, William Arthur, Isaac E. and Harold( my Grandfather).
I am not sure if this is your family or not. I would love to find out what happened to my Grandfathers siblings and their decendants.
Thanks,
James
