Janet,
I am excited to see if we have a family connection. I am going to forward our correspondence to my cousin, Lee. She is a cousin from my great great grandpa William, who went to Marysville. Her great grandpa and mine were brothers.
You can contact me via my home email at dkcole1(a)q.com.
Thanks,
Debbie

Thanks for getting in touch.I will have a look at what my husband has -- he is going to Berlin tomorrow for a few days so if I do not get back to you quickly bear with me.
Thomas is my husbands first name,as was his fathers.
He was broght up in Northampton, there are a number of Cockerills in Northampton. I know his lot came from Collingtree.
The small villages of Collingtree and Gayton are close together ( and very pretty).
I will try to email you some census info from ancestry.
regards
Janet Cockerill

Janet,
My name is Debbie (Cockerill) Cole. I am related to some of the Cockerill's who came from Northampton. They are as follows:
Thomas Cockerill & Ann Kingston, they had a
John Cockerill b. Oct. 24,1742 Wooton, Northampton d. Dec. 2, 1802 Gayton, Northampton. m. Sarah ???? they had a son, William b. Sept. 25, 1799 Gayton, Northampton d. abt. 1870 m. Anne Cockerill,(daughter of Richard Cockerill & Elizabeth Wingrave)Aug. 12, 1824 Collingtree, Northampton, they had a son William b. Oct. 28, 1832 Caldecote, Northampton, d. June 16, 1902 Marysville, Marshall Co. Kansas m. Elizabeth Slater Kemp. Do any of these people show up in your husbands tree? I made contact with this woman from that area one time who said that there is a town there that has tons of Cockerill's in it. As of this date, I haven't been able to find any Cockerill's, other than my great great grandfather William, who died in Marysville, Kansas, in the states that I am related too. I don't know if all of William's siblings stayed in England or not. William had a total of 10 brothers and sisters. I do know that 3 of William's sons married in Marshall County, Kansas, three daugh!
ters of Reuben Bull who was also from Northampton and moved to Marshall County, Kansas from Northampton.
Let me know if we have a connection.
Debbie (Cockerill) Cole

I found the photo of the Cockerill truck while browsing today. It made me laugh so much I have sent it to other family members.
My husband is descended from the Gayton/Collingtree Cockerills of Northampton but he is too busy to research them properly.
I might have information that interests you .If so let me know
