I am guessing that Elizabeth could be the grand daughter of the William/Elizabeth Cockerill family of Birdsall. William b. 1798. The family spread into the Malton area.
I am going away from home for two weeks and on my return will look into the matter and send you as much info as I can.
Regards
Yvonne

The only reference I have doesn't give the full first name, just the initital T. The date of the Pomeroy and Beers Atlas is 1868. Is it possible that he emigrated here earlier than you thought?

My family are the Cockerill's of Birdasll Yorkshire, but I also have extensive records on the entire Yorkshire Cockerills. I would be pleased to help if I can.

This is probably a long shot, but I am trying to locate a missing great uncle, Thomas Cockerill who left Australia en route to America in 1880's and was never heard of again. Totally disappeared.
