Hi Michael
This looks like the same family.
Please send what you know to my new email address:
jilliocity(a)hotmail.com
and we can exchange notes. I have a picture of Alfred Cockerell from a "who's who" in Durban. I don't know much of his daughters, only a bit about his sons John D'arcy and Sandy. D'arcy married my GGreat Aunt Florence Warland. I have a contact who knows much more.

I am trying to find more information about my mother's ancestry. She was Joan Braby, eldest child,(born 20/4/1904) and her father was Alfred Cyril Braby born 7/7/1873 in London, seventh child of Alfred Braby. Joan's mother was born Maud Cockerell (born about 1880)(married in 1902) daughter of Alfred Cockerell who we were told was High Sheriff of Natal. I think that one of the Cockerell girls married the Postmaster General of South Africa. What were their names?
I feel sure my mother used to talk about "Uncle D'Arcy" sometimes. The Braby family had a directory business in Southern Africa.
I'd like to know the names of all the siblings and the Braby line in London. Would much appreciate some help and exchange of information!
Mike in Queensland.
