I believe my daughter has a fax machine. let me give you her number and see if it works.I will go over there in an hour or so and make sure the fax machine is hooked up. It usually is buy my grandson is 18 months old and loves pulling the wires out! (850) 862-5555 fax
I'm not disappointed about the line being made of laborers. they are the foundation of all societies. The Cockerils I have met have all been laborers except for the one doctor and I guess he technically "labors"! LOL

My link is a marital one. I am working my daughter's dad's COCKERIL line. I can only get it back to 1700's in VA right now. I am hoping to find more links back farther to one of the brothers but am stuck at this time. Since the theory is about these 4 brothers I thought I would try to find out more about them. I think it would be well worth my while especially since you mentioned the family is well reseached. I could fill in the middle as I keep working. (middle meaning from what I have to the four brothers). My daughter's line is out of Jefferson County KY via Grayson County KY. Before that they were in Warren County KY and before that, VA. It is believed the earliest of this line was John Cockerell (so far) with wife Margaret
how can I learn more about the four brothers and their descendants. Are there on -line pedigree charts? Where did the families migrate to? Did many lines stay in England? Is the COA you mentioned on line somewhere? I looked in the local libraries Burke's and could not find any for any Cockeril of any spelling.
The doctor I talked to was a Doctor Cockerill here in Florida. His line came out of Canada. He mentioned something about Lord Napier but it has been so long I can't remember what he said about him other than his dad was named after him. I noticed on the tv that there is a large business named COCKERILL's in Mobile AL and Pensacola FL. I thought of driving over and talking to them and see if they knew their line but it hasn't happened yet. I would certainly love to see the COA/crest you have. Is it possible? Thank you for taking the time to respond to my message. Pam

I am not sure I can help you. I do have the coat of arms with the four cocks but this was for the John Cockerill of Seraing, Belgium. There were four brothers William, Charles James, John and Alexander who died very young. The family originated in England. At least this family. Seized and imprisoned during the French Revolucion they became French citizens. The work done on these Cockerill's is extensive so I am not sure where you fit in. Can you ask me more specific questions? Margarita Hannen
