Hello
I don't think anyone has posted a message to this list for a while, so
here's my COCKERILL information...
My Grt Grt Grandmother, Dorothy COCKERILL Arkley, was born in Smith's Place,
Tynemouth, Northumberland in 1854. Her father was John Arkley (occupation:
Master Mariner/Ship's Captain), her mother was Mary Ann COCKERILL (born
1828) and their other daughter was called Isabella. Dorothy COCKERILL
Arkley married John Pyle in Rothbury (c.1881), and they had 5 children,
Grace, Rose, Isabella, Barbara and Edward.
(As you can tell) I haven't done much investigating of the Cockerill side of
the family yet, but would love to hear whether anyone else has any
Cockerill/Northumberland/North East of England links.
Juliette
