Gail, I don't remember this name at the moment. I had a contact with Susan Pack who lives in that area. She is a descendant of old Lindolph D. Cockerham who still was raided in Wilkes or Surry Co., NC causing him to relocated to Indiana as I recall. Susan also has a sister down there who was working on the family as well. These folks are probably in my Cockerham2a file if you have it?

Larry,
I had forgotten about this until just now.
YEARS ago I begin looking for my Cockerham line in Texas as I was told my
Dad had gone out there several times to visit with family and friends in
Texas...........................
Near Ft. Worth.............only he would go to another place out from that,
that folks speak of a lot. I can't think right now what it is called. I
will get back to you on that part later.
Anyway, this lady made contact with me, I am sure I have that here some
where among all my papers, as I don't throw away a
thing.....................afraid too. May need it one day.
Anyway
She worte in in part to say that:
A George Cockerham/Cothran was very famous in her neck of the wood. He had
wrote some nice works that he left behind there! For a time I thought that
it may have been my own George but later found out that he was
not..............................
Didn't you guys have a George too?
I will look for that contact info and get that off to you ASAP it may help
some.
Gail
Gail, I looked in the telephone book, as there have been several Cockerhams who lived in the "'Ft. Worth" area.
Here is one W. Stephen Cockerham 214-979-3005
There are several Cochran names in telephone book. They are as follows:
IM Cochran Dentist 817-332 -9991
Jeff W. Cochran Atty 817-295-1195
Payne Cochran & Co. 817-8782824
Cochran & Phillips LLP817-795-6800
I don't know if this will help, but may be worth a call.
