Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
--------am not receiving mail from the Cockerham list. Isn't it being sent
out on e-mails anymore? I really would like to continue getting the mail if it
is available.
Thankyou in advance.
Dixie (Cockerham) Stone
Yes, these are my cousins, though I've only met a few members of their family. Marcus Lafayette had 18 children, so it's not easy keeping them straight. They're shown in my Cockerham2c file if anyone needs the information. Marcus was the brother of my great grandfather James Elbert Cockerham.

Larry, I never throw anything like your Cockerham 1 file away. Got it all
in a three-ring binder. Dixie Lee Cockerham Stone is the daughter of Earl
Lloyd & Neva Cockerham. And it goes Earl Lloyd from Clarence Ambrose from
Marcus Lafayette from James Patterson. So you just may be cousins.

Yes, you are correct that the Daniel Stewart Cockerham is to William Cockerham and Charity Jennings. Look at my Cockerham1 file if you still have it. Daniel Stewart is in the Moses Cockerham Sr., son of David Cockerham line. I believe there is a link here only through marriage to my Daniel Cockerham line in that the dna data from the William Cockerham b. ca 1784 matches 25 markers with my guys. I believe that William is probably my Humphrey's son, one of two unidentified sons on the 1790 Wilkes County, NC census. I'm not familiar (without looking) with Dixie Lee Cockerham Stone's line. Can you refresh my memory? James and Rhoda are my ggg grandparents, James being the son of Humphrey. I also have other Cockerham links in Iowa through mg gg grandfather James Patterson Cockerham, son of James. JP and Amelia are buried in Mitchell Co. IA.

Larry, you know I really don't like to put out any undocumented data but I
do have some info that shows this Daniel Stewart Cockerham to be the son of
William Cockerham and Charity Jennings. I have that William Cockerham was born
ca. 1778 in Halifax County, Virginia while Charity Jennings was born about
1783 in Surry County, North Carolina. However, I don't have documentation of
this so please don't chisel this in stone yet.
When Leslie Bellon started asking questions about the N.C., Iowa Cockerhams,
I though the reference was to Dixie Lee Cockerham Stone's line out of
Ackley, Iowa. However, that line tracts back to James Cockerham & Rhoda McCann
(Humphrey's line). So, obviously, there are two sets of N.C., Iowa Cockerhams.
