Bess & other Cocke family researchers.....I ordered the fiche of the Cocke &
Cousin 2 Vol out of print book from a local LDS (Mormon) Family History
Center by our local LDS Church (they have virtually thousands of those Fam Hist
Centers, so check your phone book for one); it came from Salt Lake City's Fam
Hist Lib. Took only couple weeks to be received & the fiche were not over 4-5$
total. you view them at the Fam Hist Center on a fiche "reader", like a
microfilm reader, which most Centers have, I'm sure. Remember, this fiche is not
yours to keep; rather it stays permanently at the local Fam Hist Center for all
researchers to use. Hope this helps. Charlie Murphy near Seattle

Cocke family researchers....Suggeston/Tip: for anyone interrested in
reviewing the 2 Vol Cocke & Cousin work which is well indexed etc. Since it was out
of print & I was unable to locate a copy for sale anywhere, I ordered
microfiche set of the 2 Vols for a very nominal amount, e.g., nickel a fiche page
more or less through my local LDS Family History Center out of SLC Fam Hist
Lib. Now that set of microfiche covering the entire 2 Vols is permanently
available to all researchers at our local Family History Center. Not quite as handy
as having hard volumes in one's own library, but is good substitute. Charlie

Thank you again Don. I have forgotten how to downlod but I have the book and
will probably remember as I go along and yes I would love to have your
print out on RichardCock Sr born 9/5/1602.
I guess that you knew he had 2 sons named Richard. one by Temperance
Bailey/Bally and one by Mary Aston. I have some of this on paperthat I
entered 30yrs ago but I would sure appreciate. Hopefully I will have
something that you don't when I can put it all togeather. Hope I can give
you something back.
I am a little older than you ....I was born in San Antonio in 1926.
Thank you so very much.

Dee % Butter fly wings.....Noted your msge re Memphis Cocke folks in 1860
time period; although I'm unfamiliar with that particular family, want you to
know that I had members of my family tree in Memphis that time period. Two
sisters of my g grandmother named O'Reilly from Louisville had married the same
man, one at a time, of course. He was Thomas Harralson Cocke (his father was
Bowler Cocke--& some may know that there were several men with that same name
over the years all mentioned in the great 2 Vol work Cocke & Cousins (out of
print I believe)). Anyway, this Thomas Cocke lost his first O'Reilly wife
circa 1875 & few years later he married the sister. Thomas had children in both
marriages. I'm in contact with one of the descendants of the second marraige.
She is Judy Cocke Blackman of Dallas, TX. Does any of this interest you?
