Is there any one reseaching the Cocke's or O'Neal's in Sherman, Grayson
Co. Texas or Greenville, Hunt Co, Texas? I think some decesendents
moved to Indianola , Ok .
The O'Neal family:
John Clayton O'Neal and Mary Ellen Cocke married Nov.24, 1870 in Sherman,
Tx.
John was born in 1849 ; Mary Ellen Cocke was born Nov. 24, 1853 in
Grayson Co., Tx
She died Feb. 21, 1888, in Greenville, Hunt Co. Tx.
I think this maybe my Mary Ellen Cocke ;daugher of James Wheeler and
Caroline Cocke.
I found this on the familysearch@org.

Hi Cocke's,
Please write me if you have these names in your line or HAVE SEEN THEM
SOMEWHERE! James Wheeler Cocke and Caroline Elizabeth Howell are my
g-g-grandparents. I only knew of my g-grandfather John Howell Cocke born
1844 in Ms. and who served in the civil war in Texas ( W.P. Lanes Texas
Rangers). He is buried in Memphis Tn at Elmwood cemetery.
I was told by the familysearch.org that any family member can put in
information but does not have to prove it. Also it is put in WITHOUT a
submitters name so there may be no way to find them.
Please if you run across this family, let me know. I thought I was a
lone and I am not a mormon so I may never find them.
Also thank-you for all the help, I have gotten on this.

Hello cousins!
I'm writing with some good news... We now have 100 subscribers to the COCKE
list!!! Now would be a good time to re-post that troublesome bit of COCKE
information that has you flummoxed. Maybe some of our new subscribers have
the information you need.
Also, here's a site for the COCKE cemetery at Buda, Hays County, Texas.
Frederick Bird Smith COCKE is buried there, as are several other members of
his family. There are also members of the CARPENTER and LABENSKI family
buried there.

I have a problem!!! MY TWO G-G-GRANDPARENTS are on the familysearch.org
with TWO DAUGHTERS I didn't KNOW ABOUT!! I ought to be happy, RIGTHT !
Well the number can't be found at that library to order the records.!!!
This is how I got them, do I have to do something else?
After I went to the familysearch.org :
First I put in just the parents names:
father: JAMES WHEELER COCKE
mother: CAROLINE ELIZABETH HOWELL
( These are my g-g-grandparents on my mother's side.)
Well TWO daughters came up!
CAROLINE ELIZABETH COCKE born abt 1853
and
MARY ELLEN COCKE born abt. 1851
the number under them was #203473
After this I called the library and was told that I may not want to order
this because it was
in Italian!!!! Well I went today in person and was told that they
couldn't find them at all!!!
That the number was was incomplete. With a zero added the number was a
census in Scotland.
How can I find out who gave this information?
Trying again,
Elizabeth
from Daytona Beach
Since I put this quest on the list ; I have since gone to the library to
check it out. Well
the number that had come up with the names; #2034738 wasn't a complete
number and according to the library it was either in Italian or from a
census in Scotland!
So do any researchers know how I can find out who put the information?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
