My ancestor Abraham Cocke born abt 1770 in Brunswick Co. VA, married
Elizabeth Hargroves Biggers, died abt 1814 in Montgomery Co. TN, had a son
named Abraham. Abraham was born next after John, who was born September 22,

maybe against Kentucky. If this is your Abraham, I have a wealth of

Looking for the parents of Abraham Cox - born 1802 in Kentucky (Possibly
Bourbon County) - died 10 Oct 1889 in Jasper County IL. He was married
to Harriet Beebe on 21 Nov 1832 in Jefferson Co., IN.
I believe them to be John Cox and Susannah Groom(s) who were married on
20 Jul 1793 in Bourbon County, KY. I have no more info on John Cox.
I know Susannah Groom was born Abt 1787 and her parents names were
William Groom born in England Abt 1750 and Sarah Elizabeth (Sally)
Parker born Abt 1756. They were married abt 1775 in KY. They were
believed to have lived in Orange County, VA and emigrated to Bourbon
County, KY between 1787 and 1800. William Groom died in Bourbon County
KY in Apr 1811.
I hope this helps someone come up with something I can put my teeth in
on the parents of Abraham Cox. I know I am on the right track (gut
feeling Only) but have been unable to find out the children's names for
John Cox and Susannah Groom.
Thank You
Roger A. Cox Sr.
