Marie A. Cockburn, age 85,
of Harborcreek, residing at Brevillier Village, died Thursday, October 23, 2008 at Hamot Medical Center. She was born in Erie on May 20, 1923, daughter of the late Frank and Isabelle Maille. Marie was a member of Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church. She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting, embroidering, cross stitch, playing the piano and organ, scrabble, traveling, and reading especially mystery novels. The widow of John W. "Bill" Cockburn, survivors include two children, Jean Hill (Glenn) of Delaware, Ohio and Russell Cockburn (Sheila) of Harborcreek; a daughter-in-law, Rose Cockburn of Erie; one brother, Robert Maille of New Jersey; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry Cockburn; three brothers, Frank, Ronald and Richard Maille; and one sister, Doris Corbin. Friends may call at the Dusckas Funeral Home, Inc., East, 2607 Buffalo Road on Sunday from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend a Pray!
er Service there on Monday at 9:15 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Mercy R.C. Church at 10 a.m. Interment, St. Gregory Cemetery.
