Regarding the DNA project, I am interested in discovering if ALS has been present in the Cockburn family. My father (Robert F. Cockburn), my uncle and my aunt have all died as a result of ALS. Until recently ALS was not identifiable. The gene was isolated not long ago-leading my family and other Cockburn's that are genetically linked to think their family member's died of "cripping artihritis", or some other diagonisis. I would like any information available. Thanks!
