I am looking for any record of a male Coburn born in Bendigo, Australia in 1879. We think his birth date is 6/6/1879 and were told that his birthplace was Bendigo in Victoria, Australia. It could be spelt Cockburn or perhaps another spelling. This man left Australia and went to South Africa before the 1920's leaving a wife and children in Australia. We think his first names were Bert Hamilton but we are not sure.
Any info anyone can give me would be greatly appreciated.

Hello
I am also interested in your enquiry and have a possible lead.
My grandfather was a Lawrence Cleghorn Cockburn. Pretty strange coincidence with the names Cleghorn and Cockburn appearing, would you not agree? I have only just begun to chase up the connection. He was fairly advanced in years when my father David Cockburn was born, in Perth Western Australia, Dec 15, 1922.
Will post again if further information comes to hand.
