David,
I think we may be distant relatives. Although I cannot help you wiat info on Thomas I can tell you some other info regarding the Cockburn siblings. My great grandmother was named Annie Cockburn. She married Nelson Platt(year unknown). Her brother Thomas was said to be a soloist at the St. Pauls Cathedral in England. Annie and Nelson lived in Mt. Vernon(on and off for years)Annie worked on a cruise ship. They had three children; Maud, Philip and Norman(my grandfather) Annie is buried in a Church in Eastchester, NY(Westchester County). My mother (Annie and Nelson's granddaughter) may have more info and I will check with her. I think she has a family bible to refer to. This is so exciting!

have come to a dead end on Innes, so trying the cockburn line. maybe Cockburn is the maiden name of his mother? born in Dundee, Scotland 1848. believe that he was the 2nd son. as a teenager he joined the merchant marine for several years and eventually stayed in California. Does anyone have a connection?
