Quaker Edward Robinson married Anna Walraven at Old Swede's Church and was found several times in records of the church. Below is a record showing he met with leaders of Old Swedes where they discussed debts.
QUESTION: Does this mean he became a member of Old Swedes?
His descendant lived at Big Reed Island, Patrick>Carroll, VA near Jared Branson and children of Johannis/John Cock and Elizabeth Goad.
Robinson's relative Quaker George Robinson married Mary Martha McKay who was related to Mary Leah Jobe who married a younger John Cock born Montgomery, VA and who is a YDNA match to Johannis.

RECORDS OF OLD SWEDE'S (HOLY TRINITY)
1713
ThereuponMr. Springer, who from the beginning,
afterwardsall through and so likewise now at the end
ofmy being here has always been the first to set for-
wardwhat he understood to be for God's glory and the
church's.best good and also with him a no less faith-
fulland willing member of our congregation from the
timethat he first began to understand our language so that
hecould have the benefit of our Swedish Divine service
(forhe was an Englishman, but married amongus)
namely,Edward Robinson. HE MARRIED ANNA WALRAVEN – THEIR
GRANDDAUGHTER MARRIEDTHOMAS OGLE OF CARROLL, VA WHOSE SON
HERCULES OWNED LANDNEAR JARED BRANSON AT BIG REED ISLAND.
Thisyear 1714, April 26, a Monday, there came up
hereto me, Lucus Stedham, Peter Mounsson, Edward
Robinson and MatzPetersson of the Church Council,
andtalked with me about the old accounts, what is
backstanding, and of the agreements and indebtedness.
Johannis/John Cock who m.Elizabeth Goad was likely a son of Anders/Andrew Cock of New Castle, DE. Johannis was closely linked to Jared Bransonin Montgomery/Patrick/Carroll, VA.
I found some documentsshowing that Justa Cock (likely uncle of Johannis “John” Cock-m. Goad) andEricus Anderson were acquainted with Quaker John Richardson who attended aFriends meeting in New Castle, DE near White Clay Creek where Anders ownedland. He was likely also acquainted withQuaker Valentine Hollingsworth who also attended that meeting. His grandson Abraham Hollingsworth was a memberof Hopewell MM in Frederick, VA with Thomas and John Day Branson. So here we see New Castle friendships withthe Cocks and people who knew a Branson family in VA.
This Hollingsworth familywas allied with the Robinsons of New Castle, some of whom also moved toFrederick, VA. In VA the Robinsons wereallied with the Quaker McKay family who knew the Bransons. The McKays were allied with the Jobes one ofwhom married John Cock with DNA connections to Johannis Cock (m Goad).
A lot of familiar folkslived in New Castle near the PA border along the following creeks: Brandywine,Christianna, White Clay, Red Clay, Mill and Naaman’s. Neighbors included Quakers, Swedes, Baptistsand others.
A descendant of the QuakerBransons (Day Branson Jr-non Quaker) was married in Delaware. His probable sister, Frances Branson was alsomarried there. She likely died shortlyafterwards because her husband apparently married Elizabeth Tatnall a few yearslater, whose family was allied with the above-mentioned Quaker Richardsonfamily who knew Justa Cock.
Day Branson Sr. marriedChristianna Anderson (b. ca1725). Herparents are unknown but she could be related to close neighbor of the Cocks,Ericus Anderson. If so, this means atleast one member of the VA Quaker Branson family was possibly allied with aclose friend of Anders and Justa Cock.
Ericus Anderson’s daughterMary married Quaker Jonathan Kirk of New Castle. Jonathan’s brother William Kirk married MaryBuckingham. She was the daughter of JohnBrunsden (Branson?) of Brandywine near New Castle. Someof the Kirks went to Frederick, VA and later followed Thomas Branson Jr. to NC. This shows marriage links between peopleconnected to the Frederick, VA Bransons and a close friend and neighbor ofJohannis/John Cock’s family in New Castle.
In New Castle Anders,Justa and Johannis/John Cock were surrounded by Quakers who were acquaintedwith the Bransons, Jobes and McKays. When Johanniswent to VA he settled near a Quaker meeting at Smith’s Creek where QuakerMartha Branson attended a wedding andwhose son-in-law was a member. Johannis livednext to a large tract of land owned by the father-in-law and brother-in-law ofThomas Branson Jr. Some of that land was inherited by Thomas Branson Jr.
DNA close match toJohannis - John Cock b. 1762 married into a Quaker family in VA (theJobes). We still don’t know the father ofJohn Cock who m. Mary Leah Jobe, but we know it is likely that Johannis Cocklived near the Jobe plantation for a while. There were also mentions of an Andrew Cox and Charles Cox in Augustanear the Jobes around that time. Johannishad brothers named Charles and Andrew and cousins named Charles (if he was the son of Anders).
Anders was the grandson of Anders The Finn and it has been determined that Johannis/John was likely of Finnish descent.
If you find any errors in this post please let me know.
I am a descendant of Johannis/John Cock through Andrew Branson.
