Thank you Donald for the information. That is very interesting, as someone previously said apparently the original parish record of Tregony has been lost - therefore I haven't been able to identify William Cock's parents. I did however find the entry to Jonathan and Lucy Cock's record and did think that they may have been the parent of William Cock. Do you happen to have more information regarding Nicholas Cock, Jonathan Cock and Walter Cock? How are you related to the Cocks?

The William Cock I refer to was born ca 1787 in Tregony so I don't think there is a connection.

I have a Henry Cock (c1769) whose father was supposedly William, and his father was supposedly Nicholas, none of which is officially verified. Does any of this connect with your records?
Regards, Julie

Morning Donald,
My gt gt grandfather was a William COCK and his father was Nicholas COCK born/bap 1814 in Camborne. I have info that Nicholas' father could have been a John and his mother Elizabeth. But still to varify. However I do have N's siblings.
Look forward to hearing from you.

In transcribing the will of Walter Cock, saddler of Falmouth d.1834, I came across the following reference to your William Cock: "I request and do appoint my Friends William Cock of the Town of Tregony Gentleman and Nicholas Cock of the parish of Cuby Yeoman as Trustees and to see the Fulfillment of this my Will" Nicholas Cock is, I believe, Walter's nephew, son of Jonathan Cock and Lucy, but I cannot identify your William. I believe that they must be related. Have you been able to track down William's parentage?
