Does anybody have any information about John E Cock(s) who emigrated from his home in Barrow-in-Furness, Lancashire, England to Canada. We have heard that he changed his name to Woods and that he drowned in the Hudson (or St Lawrence) River but have no specific dates for this event. He was born c.1890 as he was aged 11 on the 1901 Census; his father was James R Cock, mother on Census is Martha, but believe this should read Maria. Any help would be much appreciated.

I'm trying to find some info on a Matthew Cock, born around the 1820's, he had a son, William, born 1843, who married Clara Ann Trick in the 1860's. They lived in the Plymouth area. Would be pleased to hear from anyone with any ideas on how to follow these up.
