Alley was born ca. 1817 in Grayson County and married John Tolberd/t there in 1834. By 1845 this family left Grayson/Carroll and appear on the 1850 census in Montgomery County Virginia. I can't find the family on the 1860 census but by 1870 widow John is in Niantic Twp., Macon County, alone with three children still in h/h: Emmale (17), Ambrose (14) & John (12). What happened to Alley? Anyone have death information or location and where family may have been between 1850-1860's. John appears on a 1866 Macon County tax assessment list.
