Jacqui:
I too am descended from the Cocke/Cock/Cox lineage. I know for a fact my
family tree traces to England, and Whales.
The oldest direct lineage in my tree is John Cock b. 8/1794 d. 1800. He
married Mary Elizabeth Goad b. 07/12/1726 d. 1799. They too had alot of
children. The names James, Thomas, Fred are scattered throughout the
generations. John and Mary Eliz Goad were born and died in Virginia. I
cannot find John cock's parents. I think this must be a connection to
England that I am missing. Somewhere in my searches I found mention of some
Cocks that went to Australia but quit the search as I wasn't looking in that
direction.
While I cannot prove at this point a connection I would love to exchange
info with you. Perhaps I may be able to find the misisng link.
Thanks

Hi,
I am searching all Cock's from Luxulyan, Cornwall. I am also trying to find the brothers 7 sisters of Frederick James Cock b. 1873 s/o Jonathan & Mary (Phillips) Cock. Jonathan was born 1802 s/o Thomas & Mary (Best) Cock.
Frederick James & his brother Thomas Cock came to Australia in the 1890's,
Thomas died in 1897. Frederick J changed his surname to COX unfortunitly, as I happen to like the name COCK very much.
Though I'm only married to a Cox/Cock I still wish the surname was Cock.
Would love to hear from someone that is connected to the Cock's in Luxulyan.
Regards
Jacqui
Sunny Queensland.
Hello, I've just joined the list.
My interest in the name is in and around the Stonhams, Suffolk, UK,
1600-1750. Happy to respond to anyone with a possible similar interest.
Thanks.
