Greetings from a new lister,
I am hoping to connect with a Cock researcher of the line of
Eduard Cock and Helena Meyer, who were married
12 October 1692 in the NYC DRC.
Helena was the daughter of Martin Meyer and Hendrickje Hermans.
Their marriage banns were recorded in the New Amsterdam Dutch
church on 28 Oct 1662:
"Marten Janszen Meyer, Van Elsvliet, en Hendrickje Hermans, Van
Amsterdam."
I also have the family of John Cock who married Magdalen Wood,
in Marbletown, Ulster County in 1679, who may be related to the
above. I have three children for them:
Samuel who married Brechje Middagh
Margaret born 1701, Marbletown, Ulster, who married Marten
Middagh.
(Brechje and Marten Middagh were the children of Joris Aertse
Middagh)
Alice, born 1694 in Marbletown, Ulster, who married Egbert
Brink.
Any information on either line very much appreciated,
Sharilyn
Hi, Does anybody have any information/lineage about the Cock family discussed in
this book (which I am having trouble obtaining).
Cousin Jack, Man For The Times - A History of the Cornish People in Victoria
by Ruth Hopkins
First published 1994 by Ruth Hopkins, Bendigo. Printed by McPherson's
Printing
Group, Maryborough.
ISBN 0-646-166 86-7
Thanks,
Ben.
I am looking for any information on my Cock line. The family (Matthew and John)
were in Madron, Cornwall and moved to Victoria, Australia in the1840s.
Henry Cock (?)
Matthew Cock was born in 1806 in Cornwall died 1865 Victoria, Australia
John Cock was born May 1, 1838 in Penzance and died in Victoria - lived in
Chiltern
Clarence Edwin Cock, Victoria1883-1962
Any info on the family going further back in Cornwall and connections with other
Australian Cock families would be appreciated. Family lore says Matthew Cock had
a brother or cousin who also settled in Victoria.
Thanks,
Ben.
