I'm annoyed cause I wrote out a lineage and family history, just about to wrap it up,and somehow I deleted it all. So I'll make this short. Solomon Turner Cochran Sr. was my gr-gr grandfather, married to Martha Woodward. He lived from 1849-1936. He had a son named Solomon Turner Jr, who was my gr-grandfather. He lived from 1887-1967. He was married to a woman named Susie, who I believe was a Cochran before she even married one. He had a son name Tyrus Stone Cochran Sr. This was my grandfather, my mother dad. My mom's grandfather, Solomon Sr. lived with them in his last years in Beulah, Bolivar co, MS. Just as a side note, my grandfather also named his eldest son Tyrus Stone Cochran Jr.
The "Turner" middle name came from Solomon Sr's father, who was John Turner Cochran, my gr-gr-gr grandfather. This man was married to two Strickland women (due to death obviously), but if you research the history of the Stricklands and further down the line, it is very interesting. It leads to a Creek indian heritage. I wouldn't miss out on following that line, it is one of the most interesting stories I've come across doing my genealogy. Hope you or somebody else finds this interesting and someday posts a follow-up! I still have lots to learn!
And by the way, Elizabeth Cochran Abney Baylot, I knew there were Abneys in our family. Are you related to the Fords as well?

Trying to find any information on my GG Maternal Grandparents. Found a marriage certificate today which is all I have to go off.
William Cochrane (father was Alexander) married a Mary Copeland (father William) on 3rd November 1876 in Newtownards 1st Presbyterian Church, Ireland. http://firstards.org.uk/ Witnesses were Thomas Copeland & Mary Copeland
Their daughter, Jennie Cochrane (born 1891) is my G Grandmother. Jennie move to Renfrewshire, Scotland (don't know when, but she married there), so entire family could have moved from Ireland to Scotland.
Any information or connections would be welcomed.

Hi,
I have Cochranes in my family line. They were from the North Berwick area of Dunbar, East Lothian, Scotland. The name started as Cochran and then changed to Cochrane at some point. Margaret Cochrane (b. 1786) married John Riddel. They moved to Canada with their son Archibald Alexander Riddel.
My information says that Margaret's parents are John Cochrane (b. 1759) and Margaret Henderson (b. 1774, parents Rev. John Henderson and Mary Kerr). They married in 1785. There are some questions regarding the validity of this information as Margaret Henderson would have been 11 years old when she married and 12 when she had her first child.
According to the information I have, John Cochrane's parents were Mungo Cochrane (b. 1727, parents are John Cochrane and Jean Mas(s)son) and Catherine Irvine (m. 1753)
If this matches anyone's information please let me know and we can compare notes.
Thanks.
