I have the same marriage of parents, 1812. I also have a letter of one of Robert's sons asking his niece, while she was in England, to try and find evidence of an inheritence for his father, as his mother, Lucy Allen, had told him Robert was an illigmate son of Thomas Cochrane. That is all that was discovered on this subject. I do not have information about a David Cochrane. Good Luck to you and please send any information you may find and I will do the same.

I read with interest you inquiry regarding you search on Robert Houghton, son of Thomas Cochrane. I looking for information on David Cochrane born in Edinburgh, Scotland in 1819. He married Jane Allen who was born in 1821 and they lived in England. My mother-in-law has said she was told that David Cochrane was the illigmate son of Thomas Cochrane, Earl of Dundonald. Perhaps that would explain why I have not been able to find any information on him. Do you any any information to indicate the Thomas Cochrane may have been the father of David Cochrane. I know Thomas was married to Katherine Barnes in 1812 and remarried her in the Anglican Church in 1818.

Mary Cochrane married Fred Blakemore had 2 daughters Kathleen and Eileen (my Grandma). Fred Blakemore died when the children were little and Mary remarried to a Fred Swann.

Message Board Post:
James Marion Sanders (Saunders) born 1857 in Precinct 4, Wood, Texas. He had three children with Cordelia Coughran (Caughran) in Oklahoma Indian Territory. Cordelia Coughran may have been the youngest daughter of Lewis Coughran and Marylinn McCormack, also living in Indian Territory.
James Marion and Cordelia's children are:
James Corbett Sanders b. 1892 married Swift
Ruby Sanders b. 1895 married McGill(1) and Lones(2)
Josephine B. Sanders b. 1897 married Hart
It is believed that Stella Howard b. 1884 in Indian Territory is the daughter of Cordelia Coughran, and the half-sister of James Corbett, Ruby and Josephine. I am looking for documentation on Cordelia. Stella is on 1900 census and 1910 census, but need other documentation on her as well. It is also believed that James Marion died in Arizona. He had traveled there with the cattle drives many times during his life. Thank you so much!!!
