The following is the obituary of Eliza Ann Cochran. I am searching for her
four sisters and one brother, but especially the sisters. They must have
lived in Chautauqua Co., NY at one time, since Eliza Ann is listed being
baptized at the Presbysterian Church in Westfield, NY in 1827 and joining the church
in the 1830's.
This is her obituary from the Gary Interstate (Newspaper) at Gary, SD on
Sept 7, 1888.
Mrs. Eliza Cochrane died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oliver, in the
fillage last Monday morning September 3rd, after being confined to her bed for
twenty months. She was born in Westfield, Chautauqua County, New York,
September 17th 1824, and hence with ??????? at the time of her death. She was
converted and joned the M.E. Church at twelve years of age, and has been
connected with the church ever since. During her long sickness, she exhitbited
unwavering patience and trust in Him whome she believed, and died rejoicing in
the same faith. She was buried on Tuesday, Sept., 4th, her paster, Rev. F.H.
Wheeler conducting the funeral services at the M.E. church. She leaves two
children, a son and a daughter, four sisters and one brother. After so much
suffering and patient waiting for the final summons, death was to her a blessed
change, and those who mourn her loss cannot wish her again upon that bed of
pain.
End of obituary.
Eliza was my gg-grandmother and is buried in the Grandview Cemetery at Gary,
South Dakota.
If anyone recogizers her and know who her sisters where or who they married,
please contact me at _jimmynj(a)aol.com_ (mailto:jimmynj@aol.com) .
Thank you
Jim Cochrane

My G-Grandfather was Robert George Henry Cochrane born 1874, he was one of the 15 children, he married Florence Gertrude Annie Buysman in 1902. They had a 2 children Robert Bernard (my dad) and Margaret Winifred (both dead now). I have you on my family tree as having a brother Roger. Is this true, am I in the right section. If so your Grandfather had a daughter too called Dorothy. Is this right.

I am thrilled to hear from you.
I am very pleased to have found another link to my family tree. Flodden road was the definate for me. I have most of the 15 children but when I get to Major Robert Cochrane have come to a brick wall which I am knocking myself out trying to break. The only way forward I think is to visit London GRO but havent yet done so.
