I have been checking the COCHRANE board and have an interest in Alexander COCHRANE of South Island NZ. Seek contact with Sheree.
Hello listers,
I have just begun researching a new line and I am having a difficult time.
Looking for parents of Joseph COCHRAN/COCKRAN. He was born abt. 1912. He
married Evelyn ZIMMERMAN. Together they had 9 (spelled COCKRAN) children; some
born in Washington, D.C. and some in Maryland. Evelyn Zimmerman was born
about 1917 in PA., and died in the 1980's in MD. I was thinking about ordering
the social security apps but am not directly related....I'm not sure if this is
a possibility or not.
I was told that his middle names was Renolds (Reynolds?).
I have found several old news articles for COCHRANs in Washington, D.C. I
have even traced one particular Joseph that was living in D.C. with his parents
Stephen and Agnes COCHRAN. Stephen COCHRAN's father was Joseph COCHRAN, born
in MASS, married to Kate E. I have found NO ARTICLES that relate to Joseph,
born 1912. If needed I can list all of the children for the older Joseph and
his son Stephen.
Because Joseph and Evelyn married and had children after 1930 and the parents
of Joseph are unknown.....I can not make any connection between him and his
parents.
Is there anyone else searching the line in Washington, D.C. of Joseph, 1912 >
Stephen > Joseph, born in MASS. I have found no other Joseph COCHRAN/COCKRAN
near or in D.C. that fits this puzzle. The family has little to no
information on Joseph or his parents. The only other information given to me was that
their name could possibly have been CORKRAN. I could not find a Joseph
Corkran either.
Any help on this line would be greatly appreciated!
Jo in Maryland
Sorry Wendy,
All of my Cochran's came from Donegal County to States in 1750. Have lots of
records on them. If I can helpe anyone, let me know. They landed in
Pennsylvania then my group settled in southern Ohio. Were still there.
Have a good day.
Jim
