Hi Jim, this is Tina. Sorry I lost the board there for a while. Tried emailing you at the aol addy, and it came back. If you want to try and email me at dtjwh(a)hotmail.com account I will try to provide any information I can. I am not related to the Cochranes that I know of, but hubby had ancestors in Gary that owned the general store about the same time as your ancestors lived in the area I believe. I've got a few books around somewhere on the history of the county and such, and may fine information there. The Edith I was looking for hasn't shown yet.
Do you know who the sea captain was? Are you related to Lord Dundonald? I
have a book written about this person.
Looking forward to hearing from you.

My father was born in New Richmond, Gaspe, Quebec. His name was John and his father's name was William. History has it that his great grandfather was a Scottish sea captain, also named William that brought his family to Canada (time frame unknown). They are related to the Hardy's and Fairservices. If anyone has any links please let me know.
Thank you.
