I am looking for information on the lives and death of James (R.?) and Mary J. (Heffernon) Cochrane who I lived on Heard St. in Chelsea, Massachusetts. I am also looking for children and other descendants.
According to the 1900 census, James was born in Feb 1865 in Massachusetts and his father was born in Ireland. Mary was the daughter of Dennis and Mary (Prendible) Heffernon of Boston.

What is the name of your Grandfather who emigrated to NZ??
My Great Grandfather is Alexander Cochrane who lived and died in NZ.
He married an Amy Wright, and they had two children, Edna and Isabella (born abt 1911).

Anyone have information on a Thomas Cochrane who came to America probably in the 1840-s. I believe he may have settled in Dane Co. WI. Would love to hear from you and share information. Had a brother Sanders Swinton Cochrane who came here to America at the same time.

Marnie, I'm sorry that I don't have information you asked for but I'm wondering if we might have a connection. I have been searching for a George Cochrane who married Jane Wallace,
they had one son that I know of (James Charles) who had a grandson Jay CLIFFORD Cochrane. Maybe we can work together and put some of the puzzle together. Thanks.

I HAVE BEEN DOING SOME RESEARCH ON MY FAMILY AND CANNOT GET FURTHER THAN ONLY MY GREAT-GRANDFATHER. HIS NAME WAS CLIFFORD COCHRANE AND I THINK WAS BORN IN DOLLAR, MICHIGAN. HE MARRIED ISABELLA IRWIN. I AM FROM SAULT STE MARIE, ONTARIO, CANADA AND IF ANYONE KNOWS ANYTHING I WOULD BE SOOO GRATEFUL.
I am looking for descendants of Alexander Cochran(e) and his wives (1) Polly
Armstrong - (2) Lydia Jane Parks. And for information concerning his
parentage.
This Alexander Cochran ( b. ca 1802) was one of the first "pioneers" (ca
early 1830's) into the border town area of then New Brunswick / later
called Lyndon (now called Caribou) Maine. This family had a gristmill,
after Alexander's death ( late 1860's) - his wife took the children still at
home and moved with the gristmill to the Oblique area of New Brunswick. I
know there were 2 or 3 sons from the marriage with Polly Armstrong and
multiple children from the marriage with Lydia Jane Parks.
I am descended through his daughter Rachael Cochrane ( m. Gabriel Bulley
aka: Boule/Beaule ), and would like to find cousins descended from his other
children.
