Greetings!
My grandmother was Nettie Elizabeth COCHRANE before she married my
grandfather, Peter Ivy MCCAIN. This family of Cochrane's is from Northern
Michigan and Canada. I have a cousin who has traced the family back to John
and Jenny Cochrane in about 1830-1840s. We don't know where (as I recall)
either of them came from. Jenny, however, bought some property in Canada in
1840 and it is noted that she is a widow. Does this ring a bell with
anyone?

Marian,
One of my grandmothers was a Cochran and lived in Pike Co. Georgia.
Her name was Willie Alice Cochran married John Cecil Pryor in late
1860's or so. I can locate her parents names if you think there is a
connection. She had several sisters that I know of. Did any of your
later Cochrans move to any where in Georgia? Thank you.
