Hello all,
First, my current email is brent(a)brentbenjamin.com.
Second, I did find the lineage of my James Cochran (1820-1904). His father was James Cochran, brother of John Lowery Cochran, sons of John and Margaret (Lowery) Cochran. His mother was Rosanna Bricker.
Thanks for postings.
Brent

Many of my Cochran family were in Mecklenburg in the 1700's. That is the branch I am currently researching. I don't doubt at all that we are connected down the line. I'm still working on them, because as I'm working further into the United States, I'm also working backwards into Scotland. So I'm dead center on this particular immigrant family.

I don't know your exact names, but I'm currently researching the Cochrans from Cabarrus, NC & Mecklenburg, NC. I know the first immigrant family in my line was there, but I don't know where their port of entry was. I understand there were Scot-Irish that came in from PA, MD, and somewhere else. I have a hint that ours may have came from PA, then to NC, but this particular family, the children branched out pretty good from there. I know one moved to Ohio, one to Georgia, and I'm not sure of the rest, because I'm trying to work backwards to establish a firm link in Scotland with them also. My family ended up in MS, and we descend from them. The oldest ancestor I'm sure of right now is Robert Cochran, born 1703 in Ayrshire, Scotland. I believe he died in Ireland, but his children moved on to the states. All of them were born in Scotland or Ireland, but the next generation was born in Cabarrus or Mecklenburg. These are the ones who spread out. It may be that we are researching th!
e same family. If I run into your names I'll let you know. If you want, you're welcome to contact me as well.

I am a Mississippi Cochran doing research. I've skipped around on the tree some, so I've missed a lot of my MS family, although I know I have a lot from the Greene/Perry counties area. My gr-grandfather was Solomon Cochran & gr-grandmother Susie Cochran. I have my lineage on my tree. I would love to collaborate with some of my possible relatives on this. I've recently been working on the 1700's, when my family came over from Scotland/Ireland. I've made what I consider some major breakthroughs just the last few days. I would love to share this with others. Any contacts, replies, or messages are very welcome!
