Actually I have both of her books and the history is very accurate. I have done extensive research snice 1988 as Genealogist/Archivist for Clan Cochrane and have cofirmed a lot of the early history through charters and grants in not only Scotland but in all of the UK as well as the US and Canada.

A funeral service celebrating the life of Lela E. Cochran, 81 of Newark, Ohio will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at the Newark Chapel of VENSIL & CHUTE FUNERAL HOME,
. Interment will follow at Green Hill Cemetery, Johnstown, Ohio.
Lela was born to the late Charles E. and Carrie (Brake) Piper on June 23, 1932.
She graduated from Granville High School, Granville, Ohio with the class of 1950.
She was the band Majorette.
She worked in the offices of Owens Corning, Newark Hospital and retired from Value City Dept. Store.
She enjoyed traveling to the east coast and Nova Scotia. She enjoyed reading. Most of all she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, great grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Don; daughter, Peggy Ann (Greg) Lombardo of Newark, Ohio, sons, Mark (Sarah) Cochran of Mechanicsburg, PA, Dean (Robin) Cochran of Fremont, OH; brother, Jack Piper of Alexandria, VA; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews
.She was preceded in death by an infant grandson, Aaron Simpson; three brothers and four sisters.
Calling hours will be observed Monday, November 11, 2013 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home 1850 West Main Street.

MARION: Blaine Richard Cochran, age 84, of Marion, Ohio passed away early Sunday morning November 3rd, 2013 in Kingston of Marion where he had been a resident for the past five years.
He was born in Morrow County, Ohio on September 23, 1929 as the son of the late George Washington and Mary (Wolfe) Cochran.
On September 11, 1952 he married the former Ruth Roach and she survives him. Blaine is a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was employed by Eaton Corporation for 39 years as a machinist.
He had a life-long interest in collecting coins and stamps.
Besides his wife, Mr. Cochran is survived by two sons, Blaine (Janet) Cochran of Edison and Brother Michael Cochran of Saint Vincent's Monastery of Latrobe, WI.
He is also survived by his brother, George of Edison; and his sisters, Betty Berridge of Marion, Ohio, Mary June Miller of Marion, Darlene Blasinski and Beulah Deeds of Texas and Linda Shingler of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and five sisters.
The family would like to thank Acclaim Hospice and Kingston of Marion for the care and consideration shown to their loved one.
Graveside services for Mr. Cochran will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Friday November 8th in Caledonia Cemetery by The Marion County Veteran's Council.
Friends may call at the Timson Allen & Melroy Funeral Home in Caledonia from 12:45 until 1:45 on Friday.Memorial contributions may be made to the Disabled Veterans of America.
