Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb

M.J. COCHRAN, b 1 Apr 1854, Evansville, In. His grandfather was a pioneer who went to Indiana before it was a state coming from East Tennessee. Mr. COCHRAN is of Scotch descent. He studied law at Rockville, IN & was admitted to the bar in May 1875. Went to Woodson Co., KS in 1877 and then to Medicine Lodge, KS where he edited a newspaper for one year. 1879 found him in new Mexico. He was in Washington in 1880 running for election to the first legislature but was defeated. He was in Buena Vista, CO where he stayed until about 1888. In the Spring of 1890 he went to Aberdeen & practiced law there for about six years. In 1896 he moved to Spokane. Mr. Cochran was in Wrangell, Alaska in Jan 1898, practicing law. 1899 he went to Atlin and then to Nome in 1900.

They were married in Londonderry, New Hampshire on 12/3/1772. James died 11/23/1795; Mary died 11/3/1796. They had 8 children: David 1773, Robert 1774, James 1776, Samuel 1778, Agnes 1782, John 1784, Mary 1786, and William 1789. Some of these children were young when orphaned. Does anyone know what happened to them?
