A. H Cochran (Abijiah Harris Cochran)) married Elizabeth Rebecca Allison at Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church in Mecklenburg in 1851. My problem is:
1. I have hit a solid brick wall on Abijiah's Father. I believe his name was Robert but have not been able to prove it yet. The 1850 census record shows Abijiah living with Mary A. Cochran who I believe is his mother. I found a marriage record for Mary A Alexander and Robert Cochran. Abijiah also named his oldest son Robert which is another clue his fathers name could have been Robert. I have not been able to locate a will for the right Robert.
2. Elizabeth Rebecca Allsion's father was William Allison but her mother was already deceased. I found Elizabeth and her father William both mentioned in Capt Stephen Alexanders will dated 1831 which leads me to believe he was Elizabeth's Grandfather... was her name Patsy? I have a marriage record for a Patsy and William

I have a Jane Cochran est year of birth 1798, and she was born in Ireland. She was married to Hezekiah Mayes/May(s) & the only records I found were that they settled in Victory Township, PA in 1812. I have no idea where they were before as I can find no other information on her. They would have had a son named Ezekiah Watson Mayes. Do you think there is any connection?

Yesterday, I found on FamilySearch.org, the Book written by Miles Edward Cochran, Jr. regarding the lineage of The Cochrans. This is volume 2. I have longed believed that the father of Robert Cochran of Rutherford Co., NC born 1771-1850 was John of Lincoln. In Miles book, he has Stephen Cochran and Jane Young as parents of Robert. So now, I am confused. My line of the Cochran's descends from Robert of Rutherford, so now I guess I am back to square one. Any of you Cochran researchers have proof on who Robert's father was? Pg. 960-1028 of Miles book is the section where I found this info. Specifically pg. 965, 971 is where the info for Stephen and Robert of Rutherford. Either post a follow-up here or email me at pricejr45(a)verizon.net.
