I'm researching my Cochran relatives, Isaiah C. Cochran (ca 1846-1920) and his wife Cynthia A. McDaniel Cochran 1846-????) who migrated from SC into FL about 1870-1872, I believe down into Polk county, then Putnam and Alachua and then down to Indian River, Brevard, and St. Lucie Counties. Their children were:
James Levi (1867-1915) m. Susan Barker (1872-????)
John W. (1867-1950) m. Ida Mae ??? (1873-1910)
Adelia (1872-????)
Buddie (1885-????)
Joseph A. (1885-1910) m. Sallie McCullers
Carrie E. (1889-????)
If you are a descendent of this family or are part of a related family (Barker, McCullers, Ergle, Sheffield) I would like to hear from you.
Thanks!
Mike

Interesting information. Do you know if Capt. Stephen Cochran was the immigrant, Stephen Cochran, SR (1702-1790) or his nephew (1731-1790)?

The 1890 and 1885 Educable Children of Webster County, Mississippi is available on CD. This list includes children ages 5 through 20 and a parent or guardian. There were over 4,000 names enumerated on each of these census. Cochran among them. These list are an enormous help in replacing the lost 1890 census. This area of MS was once Choctaw County. These recently discovered records are not on-line anywhere. If anyone is interested in obtaining one of these CDs contact me at
