Maggie married Levi Newton Cochran Sr. in Feb 1877 in Bastrop Cty Texas. She may have died in 1902 and is buried in an unknown grave in the Wimberley Cemetery,
WSimberley, Hays Cty, Texas. She is a real mystery. I have set up a memorial for her on find-a-grave.com with a family picture made abt 1900.

Looking for information on my Great Grandfather, Thomas W. Cochran. He was born in Ill in about 1890 and became a lawyer in the late 1920's. In 1930 he is listed as living in California with his wife Helen and her daughter, Mary Behymer (age 15). I would like to find where he is buried and if he had any children with Helen. Thomas died in Los Angeles on Feb 18, 1973. If anyone could locate an obit or burial info, I would appreciate it! Thomas was part of an ambulance unit in WW I and had a son( my Grandfather) who he may not have known existed, in 1918.
If you are related or have ANY information, please contact me!

Diane,
I cannot thank you enough. I have been stuck on John F Cochran's parents for so long I was going crazy. I have many other parts of my family traced back to their country of origin and when they first came to the US. However, given that I am a Cochran, it was extremely frustrating to me that I was stumped on my Cochran side of the family. Thank you so much for your help!
Pete Cochran

John F. (Frank) Cochran born 1873 in Etowah county, Alabama.
Brothers: William Martin Cochran born Oct. 1869 in Etowah county, Alabama; James H. Cochran born 1874 in Etowah county, Alabama.
Sisters: Emma Cochran born 1868; Inezatorey (sp.?) born in 1878. Both in Etowah county, AL.
Father: James Cochran born ~ 1849 in Benton county, Alabama (Father: James Cochran, born 1798 in NC; mother - Crucy Whitfield, born 1806 in NC)
Mother: Caroline McDuffie born ~1850 in Alabama.
John F. and his family, with the exception of William Martin, left Alabama after 1880, spent some time in Arkansas where a child or two more were born, and appear in Oklahoma, I. T., in the 1900 census. I only found the Arkansas and Oklahoma connections once I found the obituary of William Martin, my maternal ggrandfather.

John F Cochran was born in Alabama in roughly 1860's or 1870's. He lived in Oklahoma in the early 1900's. His son, Charles Lee Cochran, is my grandfather. I am trying to find John's parents from Alabama. John married Filo Mell Dolly Parham from Arkansas. They lived in Vinita, OK and Afton, OK. They also had two other boys, Cecil and Clay.

Do you have any further information on the family?
I have Cochrans who traveled from Maryland to Knox County, Missouri in the generation before your William was born. My g-grandfather Thomas (1831 Maryland-1889 Missouri) had a brother William W. (1838-1910 Maryland). It seems conceivable to me that my William could have had a son named William who traveled with or later joined Thomas. Knox County, Missouri is relatively close to Keokuk, Iowa.
I have no other information on William W. other than he married Annie M., last name unknown.
