I am looking for relatives who went to USA have limited details
we know they were in Chicago 1880 there were photographs from a local photographer,
of their first daughter Florence Louisa who was born around 1879/80, she looks about 5-6 months
hard to tell but is sitting up, then a second photograph arrives of the family with two girls marked
Clair May 1881 or at least that is what the writing appears to be
then another about 10 years later with five daughters they seemed to have flourished
unfortunately no names on the later photograph and letters have not survived .
The parents John Cochran and Florence Coleman emigrated from S E London, both from the Bermondsey area
Florence she was my great grandfathers sister. I have been unable to find her birth and census prior to her leaving seem to be missing
John I believe was born around 1853 in Bermondsey and Florence
going by other siblings births would probably be around the same time within a year or 2.
Florence was from Irish Catholic ancestry
John from another photograph was a Freemason, he is wearing his lodge outfit, taken Kingston, doesn't say New York or Surrey
but am leaning towards New York
Is this familiar to anyone?
Irene
