Hi:
Have you ever communicated with Nancy Bley? Also, I have a book in the Calvert County Library entitled: The Griersons of Calvert County, but if that has been removed, in the Tri-County area library system, you can find that book, which might (??) answer some of the questions that you have about the Stinnetts.

Lorris,
Were you ever able to contact Miles and purchase the Cochrane Books he put together?? I have both of them.
I was going through some old saved genealogy emails and came across this one.
Thanks,

Hello List:
I've been following the discussion about the Miles Cochran Books, DNA
research, etc. I have one question to ask. Where can I purchase a copy of the
Books?
I am the administrator of the Cockerham Surname Y-Chromosome DNA Project and
have developed a few techniques to help people use the data. If any of you
are interested, give me a call or email.
I have also noticed that the DNA results of several persons in the Cochran
Project actually match the results of the Cockerham project better than the
Cochran Project. You do know that FTDNA allows individuals to belong to two
projects at the same time, without extra cost? We already have several
Cochrans in the Cockerham Project and can take more.

I am looking for info on the Cochran(Cothran, Cockran, etc)
I have a William Allen Cochran born ca 1807 in either Tenneesee or near Spartanburg, SC> (Census differ on this)
He married Alpha Sophia Johnson Dec 9, 1830 in Newton County, Ga. and then moved to Campbell County, Ga.
I have his children if you need these.
Anyway in the Georgia Campbell County 1840 Census, there is a William Cochran living next door to my William Allen Cochran. Must be a relative, possibly father considering his age is under 80 and up.
Do you have any connections? I am out of ideas.
Thanks so much for your time.

I don't know if this helps and I don't know anything about "Mungo" but since it is an uncommon name it stood out. I see in a book that a Mungo Cochran arrived in America, the New World in 1678. This should be recorded on page 31:
Dobson, David. Directory Scots Banished to American Plantations.. Baltimore: Genealogical Publishing Co. Inc., 1983.

Each send I receive from you with the subject "Mungo", has been blank. Do
you need to include the name Cochran in the subject line?
