Do you have birth locations for your Cochrans?
My Cochrans come from Georgia. Gr grandfather was Green H. Cochran and his
father is believed to be Henry Cochran.
Green H was born in Georgia, moved to Mississippi, moved to Alabama and then
on to Gonzales, Gonzales County, TX, where he died.

My Cochran family (John Cochran) immigrated in 1825 from Donegal, Ireland lived in Jefferson and Coshocton County to 1841 and then settled in Glasgow, Jefferson County Iowa. There is a strong indication that his wife was Ann Love. James W. Cochran my direct ancestor settled in Clarke County Iowa where there is still a presence today. I have attempted to find connections to the Cochran's in Ohio and in Iowa with inquiries to this board and unfortunately have received no response. I would welcome any help!

Laurie: Don't know if there is a connection between your Cochran and mine, I suspect that all these Cochrans in and around Clarion county are related. Mine is Thompson Cochran, born abt. 1833 Pennsylvania, lived in Rimersburg, Madison Township, buried in Toby Twp, Pa.died, Dec, 2, 1915. Married
Keziah Probasco. I found other Cochrans,s in that area while hunting through the burial notifications on Clarion county rootsweb. There weren,t many girls in the family from what my grandfaather Cochran said. Keep my information , you
might find a connection. My e-mail is, Kathleensrose(a)earthlink.net
