I'm looking for any family of Walter Harmon James born 12 March,1889 in Lincoln co. Ky. He was the son of John Andrew James and Julia Ann Oaks. Walter married Fern Koresen 30 Jan 1910 in Indianapolis, IN. Fern was born 02 August 1893 in IL. They had two children that I know of. Duane James b. abt 1912 and Lois James born later than Duane. Duane was living in parents household in 1930 census of Center Township, Marion Co. IN. Lois James was not in the household in 1930. Walter was a carpenter. I question whether your Samuel was born in GA. Georgia was only 40 years old when the Revolution began. Most likely he was a transplant from Virginia. My earliest Cochrans, John & Susannah arrived in Green Co., about 1799 from Campbell Co., Va. The great Wagon Trail through Shenandoah was the normal path of immigration from Va to Ga.

I am researching my family and am having a difficult time. Does any one know anything about Allen Sanford Cochran born 1879 MS, brother Frank. Father Abe or Obediah, mother Elizabeth? Obediah had several brothers and sisters, Charity J, Pleasant, Wade, William, John W just to name a few. All were born in Mississippi with the exception of Obediah, he was born 1820 S.C. Would greatly appreciate any info. Thanks

This just proves how inaccurate the indices are. My 3rd G Grandmother, Susannah Cochran died in 1844 in Putnam Co. She had a considerable estate. But since the 1820 for Ga was destroyed it appears that somene created a census list from tax records or some other such lis.
