Looking for A. H. Cochran
He married Aramianta Kelch on 12 May 1892 in Memphis, Shelby, Tennessee.
They had a son, Ira Carl, on 7 Apr 1894.
Alexander is listed in the 1893 Memphis City Directory. Neither are listed
in the 1894 directory but in 1895 Aramianta (Mintie) is listed as the widow
of Alexander.
No one really knows anything about him except he was a carpenter. He
supposedly fell off scaffolding while she was pregnant. He did not die in
Memphis nor is he buried there. Does anyone know of any place that was
booming in that timeframe around the Memphis area that I could check?
Thanks,
Trish

Gail, my info. from my parents to grandparents to great-grandparentsJames Jesse and Emma Cochran, I'm sure of...have pics, etc. A living relative in GA (age in 70's) says he recalls the William Monroe Cochran as being the father of James Jesse....I have a pic of my grandfather Fred with James Jesse-he had a handlebar mustache and was quite sophisticated looking! I really have no documentation of anyone past that generation, and have just gotten this info. from the other Cochran researchers. It's so hard to find records back past the early 1800's....Have you got things to share? I'd love copies and would be happy to pay postage, etc. Thanks, Carol

Hello Listers:
This is a repeat notice as I am having no luck in finding my ancestor. Some of the problem
is because we have so little knowledge about his family in Ireland.
My Great Grandather, William COCHRAN, bc1825, came from Belfast area (not sure if it
was County Antrim or County Down) and we believe his parents were small farmers. He
might have also come from a community not that far from Belfast. His mother's surname
was CRAWFORD but do not have the given names of William Cochran's parents.
He emigrated to Ontario, Canada in 1844 via New York City where "he left some uncles".
He married Margaret Ann Matthews in 1848 in Ontario, Canada. She had come with her
family from Dromara area of County Down to Canada. William and Margaret Ann
(Mathews/Matthews) had these children: Margaret, Elizabeth, Nancy, William (Jr.), Ann,
Sarah, John and Jane.
William Cochrane died in Ontario in March, 1908. Unfortunately no record of the local
newspapers survived (because of a fire where it was published) so have not been able to
see an obituary.
Any information on my Cochran-Crawford ancestors will be very much appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

I am looking for information on your Izora Jane Rector. I descend from James Lafayette Cochran (1851-1941) of Lonoke Co, AR who married Ofelia k Sutton. Ihave been told by family members that Rector was a relation of ours and have evidence that James Lafayette rented a home from a Dr. Rector.
I had begun chatting with you awhile ago when you had just moved to Illinois and I would like very much to chat with you more. Thanks.
