RE: William Cochran and Ann Wade
by Cynthia Cochran Scheuer-Jones
In looking for the parents of my Enoch Cochran b. 10 Jan 1818 d. 20 Feb
1873, Ohio County, Indiana I found the following.
Note: Cochran History-Written by Mamie Carver in 1930.
William Cochran was the ninth child in a family of ten (10) children born to
William and Ann (Wade) Cochran on November 15, 1825 in the state of
Pennsylvania.
When he was four years old, both his parents died within a week of one
another of Yellow Fever, leaving the ten children to be scattered here and
there.
William was taken by his Aunt Sara Wade, she dying in his ninth year then he
was sent to Ohio County, Indiana to live with his Uncle and Aunt Sara Wade,
where h had a good home and such education as was customary in those days.
They gave over the management of their farm to hom in his 21st year. In
four years he had accumulated $1,000. In his 25th year he married Jane E.
Starkey on March 17, 1850. His uncle and aunt moving to another place,
leaving him to run the farm.

Some people list William Cochran that married Ann Wade as Thomas who died 25
August 1830 Tyrone Twp., Fayette County, PA.
William and Ann (Wade) Cochran were married abt 1811 in possibly Fayette
Co., PA. Thier first child was b. ca 1813.
Only 2 of William and Ann (Wade) Cochran's 10 children have been identified:
William b. 15 Nov 1825 and Sarah b. 1823/24. Does anyone know who the
other 8 children are?
Who was the Uncle and Aunt Sara Wade that William was sent to live with.
Where did the other children get sent to?
Is William(2) and my Enoch related? They both have grandson or gr
greandson's named Dilver.
