You are invited to a "cousins" reunion Sunday August 21st, 2005 9 AM to 5
PM
Sponsored by Diana Mae Peters Hutchings
Come and meet your "cousins", Diana would like to have this become an
annual event so that we can get to know our heritage and extended families
before all of the "older generations" are gone and the second / third /
fourth generations contacts are lost because they did not know of each
other.
The Sportsman's Club is just off the 295 Gardiner exit there is plenty of
room to park. A great area to socialize with other cousins water access for
your boats, swimming area for adults and children, a great area for
children indoor access if the weather is bad. A computer and scanner will
be available to those who want to access the family genealogy that I have -
bring photos of family members and "ancestors" - many of us would like to
share photos and would love to have copies of photos you have.
Bring yourselves - your family - your lunch and spend the day with us -
grills will be provided.
For further information you can contact: Diana Hutchings @ 207-582-6148

Hi Mary,
My greatgreatgreat grandfather was William D. Cockerham/Cockram, born 1769 and died in 1841 Buncombe Co., NC. He was married to Elizabeth "Betsy" Stewart/Stuart. I believe this was a 2nd marriage because she was so much younger than he and 1 daughter I know of was too old to be here daughter. I originally had a James listed as a son, but couldn't remember where I got the info and took it off.
Your information is making me wonder now if we aren't connected. Tell me why or where you got the information that this William was his father? I really would like to know. It may give me another break to help track this family.
William first showed up in Buncombe in 1810 and I have no information that tells me where he was prior to that. I know that his wifes family, the Stewarts was in SC in the late 1700's to pre 1810 and also moved to Buncombe in 1810.
I am really eager to hear from you and compare info!!! :)
Thanks!
I'm looking for info on Susan HUNT WOODARD FOSTER b. ca1857 Greene or
George Co. MS. She married Jesse WOODARD ca1880, need his b&d, burial
also. She married William James FOSTER ca1890 in Mobile Co. AL...would
anyone happen to have any info on her? b&d, burial etc...I have been
told that Jesse is buried in a cem. in Bexley, MS, not sure if this is
George or Greene Co (close to line). Susan may have also been connected
to a TADE somehow according to my grandmother.
Susan is the daughter of Jefferson HUNT & Nancy HERRING. Susan had a
sister Nancy HUNT who married Martin James COCHRAN m. ca1860, Nancy b.
ca1845 d. ca1920 Mobile Co. AL.
Thanks, Gaylynn

Can someone please help me find more info on the Cochran Family that lived in Brooklyn (1850) and in Montgomery (orange) (1860)
George ? Cochran born in NY 1813
Jane E Wallace born in NY 1818
In 1850 They were living in Brooklyn with 4 of the children, George was listed as a mason.
Children all born in NY
Mary J 1844--George 1845--Margaret A 1847
Matilda E 1849--Anna 1851--Wallace 1854--James C. 1856
The 1860 census has the family living in Montgomery, Orange, NY. farming. I have not been able to find land records, birth records, death records. If I could find the parents of either George or Jane it might help.
I know that Wallace and James were in Wisconsin by 1870.
I think Mary J. was married to a David Atchison and lived in Wisconsin in 1870. The rest is a big ??????
If there is anyone with info on this family, please help!!
Thank you all.

According to "The Fighting Cochranes" Alexander Cochrane, page 342:
During the American War of Independence the Honourable John Cochrane, foruth and third suviving son of the 8th Earl of Dundonald served in Canada as Paymaster General and Deputy Commissary to the Biritish Forces in America. His immediate superior officer was Commissary-General Nathaniel Day....... The exact date of the future Rear-Admiral's (Nathaniel Day Cochrane) birth is not known but, in the memoranda and notes of the Rev. D. F. Montmollin, the first incumbent of the English Cathedral in Quebec, the following item occurs:
Nathaniel Day Cochrane, natural child of John Cochrane, Paymaster General, and Genevieve Dulon, was baptized November 22, 1780. Godfathers: Nathaniel Day, Commissary-General; Alexander Dundas, Major of the 31st Regiment: Godmother: Elizabeth Walker.
