Message Board Post:
Hi Lillian,
My great great great grandmother, Margaret Ann Cochran (widow), immigrated to Indiana County, Pa. shortly after her arrival in the US in 1851 and joined other members of the Cochran family who had preceded her. I know that the first wife of Hugh Steele Pollock of East Mahoning Twp. (Mary Cochran) was either a sister of Margaret or her husband, Matthew Cochran (both were Cochrans) -- the daughter of Hugh Steele Pollock and Mary Cochran was Matilda Jane Pollock (1845-1938) who married John Thomas Jamison. I'm pretty sure that John Thomas Jamison's aunt was Elizabeth Jamison, wife of Martin Neff, a Civil War veteran who died in the service. Interesting duplication of names!
Have you any information on the parents of Martin Neff Cochran?
Cheers!
Richard M. Cochran

Jacob Benjamin Cochran b 1822 Ohio had two brothers, according to family
story, that went to Canada and he never heard from them again....all sons of Wm

does anyone know of them?

My 3rd g-grandfather, Daniel Henderson Cochran died in 1861 in Carnesville, GA. According to papers my grandfather found, he came to the US in 1795 at age 7, first to VA then to SC. In the 1860 census, however, it shows him being born in SC.
The same papers say his father was John Cochran who married Phoebe Gray. This conflicts slightly with information from another researcher who listed Daniel Henderson's father as Daniel Cochran who married Phoebe Gray. Because some of the dates were off on the other researchers end, I'm not at all confident to say that their father information is correct, however.
If anyone is researching this family or has any more information, please contact me.
Thanks!
Courtney

In 1910 The Mary I'm looking for was 22 and lived in Etowah County, Alabama with Mother in law, husband & family.
I was told her family came from Georgia & Texas.
I assumed Mary & her husband could of went to school together since they were the same age.
On the census she is listed as Texas, & another as Mary. My baby book says Mary Ann Cochran of Texas.
Her husband was born in Georgia & had lived in Georgia & Alabama.
