Marion (nee Johnstone?) born in Grahamstown, Falkirk about 1836. Moved to
Liverpool by 1865. I have found this family in the 1881 Census minus the
father, James who may have died by then or been at sea.

Message Board Post:
I am searching for siblings of Eliza from Westfield, NY back in the 1800's. The following is the obituary of Eliza Ann Cochran(e) from the Gary Interstate, Gary, SD on the above date.
Mrs. Eliza Cochrane died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Oliver, in this village on Monday morning September 3rd, after being confined to her bed for twenty months. She was born in Wesfielfd,, Chautauqua Copunty, New York, September 17th, 1824, and hence was nearly 64 years of age at the time of her death. She was converted and joined the M.E. church at twelve years of age, and has been connected with the church ever since. During her long sickness, she exhibited unwavering patience and trust in Him whom she believed and died rejoicing in the same faith. She was buried on Tuesday, Sept 4th, her pastor, Rev. F. H. Wheeler conductin the funeral services at the M.E. church. She leaves two children a son and a daughter, four sisters and one brother. After so much suffering and patient waiting for the final summons, death was to her a blessed change, and those who mourn her loss cannot wish her again upon that bed of pain.

I saw your message and I too am searching for information on the Cochran family. My Cochrans lived in Rogers County, Oklahoma. My Grandfather was Henry Clay Cochran, Sr. He was full-blooded Cherokee. I do not know if he had any brothers, but I was looking at what information I have and some of the names you have on your message match those in my records. My grandmother's name Nanny Cochran, she was my dad's mom. My Cochrans lived mainly in and around Strang and Spavinaw, Oklahoma.
I have heard stories that my grandfather's family was reintered at the Ketchum/Winganon Cemetery when Oolagah Lake was built.
If you believe we are looking for the same Cochrans please e-mail me.
Thank you,
Henry C. Cochran,III
