Hi Shirley,
I just started looking for roots on my wife's side. I haven't even put in all of Dorrilla's 9siblings and their spouses. Any info about the Cochran's (Cochranes) and Mcdougall's would be great. Please e-mail me to save space on this server.

HI AGAIN,
AFTER TALKING TO MY MOM, I FOUND OUT THAT MY GRANDFATHER AND GEORGE WERE BROTHERS. SO AMBROSE WOULD HAVE BEEN HIS NEPHEW. THEY TOOK IN 3 OF HIS CHILDREN, THEIR NAMES WERE ALTA, KATHERINE AND HARVEY MCDOUGALL. I THINK THAT LOUISA AND MY GRANDMOTHER LILLIAN MIGHT HAVE BEEN RELATED ALSO, MAYBE SISTERS ? MY MAIDEN NAME WAS MCDOUGALL, SO YOUR MOTHER IN LAW COULD BE MY THIRD COUSIN.

Les.
I saw your message, but we might not be related.
If you would look at my message at RootsWeb of
9 Apr 2002, you will see my line (Henry system
which is a little difficult to read on message form):
"families of John Coughran d. 1803 PA."
If you think there is a possibility, I certainly will
read what you send. Of four names whose
descendants may have traveled farther west:
Francis, Henry, Aquilla, and Clarence Cochran
after the Civil War. Their children may have moved
passed Kansas farther west. My direct line stayed
in Indiana.
Warm regards,
Richard

Hi, I have been poking around in the Idaho Cochran scene in the time period around 1900. I ran across the family name Orr and the stowaway story as told by two old (90ish) people related to John and Emma Cochran, homesteaders from Canfield, Idaho. I wrote some stuff for the Cochran website that is my confirmed kin line. Would you like to read my findings? Id so e-mail me. Cheers, Les Graham spektor777(a)aol.com

Hi, I too am poking around in the Cochran genealogy woodpile and find very interesting trends where a family surname becomes a given name in later generations. Alonzo is one such name in my line. I am looking to see if there is overlap between two seemingly independent Cochran clans. I have some stuff written on some very interesting coincidences in the Wash. -Idaho area regarding several Cochrans. Please let me know if you would wish me to E-Mail them for your comment. Cheers, Les Graham

I have been researching the possible interconnection with this branch of Cochrans from Tenn. and my branch of Cochrans in Idaho. There were a few persons move from Tenn. to Wash.-Idaho area in the 1880s and eventually homestead in the Canfield - Doumecq Plains area of Idaho. Others settled near Colfax, Wash. My summary is about 4 pages of text and probably too long for a message board posting. Anyone interested please contact me and I will E-Mail the data.

Hello, my name is Linda. I was the step daughter of Paul Lehr Cochran before he passed on in 1993. I have copies of his military records and pictures. His parents were Lehr (from Upper Sandusky, OH) and Altha Ranson. He had 5 brothers and 2 sisters. Brothers Ricky and Ralph preceded him in death.
Are you his brother Randy? He has a brother Randy listed in paperwork as being born on May or June 15, 195*.
He had a baby, Paul Lehr Jr., when he was 60 yrs old in 1985 with my mother.
Please write soon & let me know. I think we could help each other out. I am trying to do my brother's family tree since he only knows my mom's side of the family. He lost his dad when he was only 7 yrs old.
My email address is lanee1967(a)aol.com.
Thanks, Linda

I'm trying to locate the parents or siblings of my Mary Cochran, b. 2 JUN 1803 in Illinois or Indiana. I know there were some Cochrans in Jefferson, Indiana, but I don't know if she's connected. She married Robert M. Willis on 19 July 1827 in Union Co., Illinois, and had:
Sarah, b. 4 Nov 1827
Cynthia, b. 19 Jan 1831
Elizabeth, b. 9 May 1833
Cirena A. Willis, b. 16 Jan 1836
Irena, b. 16 Jan 1836
Jacob, b. 16 Nov 1838
William Harrison, (my ancestor) b. 25 May 1841 in Arkansas
Isaac, b. 10 Oct 1844 in Illinois
Jane, b. 13 sep 1847 in Illinois
The family seems to have moved around from Missouri to Illinois and Arkansas. I really know nothing beyond that.
I'd be very interested to hear from anyone as to whether you feel that we might have a connection, and any more that you might be able to tell me about Mary.
